Bostina & Associates - legal consultants in Romtelecom’s stock listing
APRIL 2008
"Bostina & Associates" has been appointed legal consulting in Romtelecom’s stock listing, and the law firm is to prepare, at a first stage, the documentation concerning the broker’s selection and to ensure the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology legal assistance throughout the listing process.
„We are standing face to face to a new challenge, but the portfolio of major capital market projects that have been successfully completed and which have benefited from our assistance (listing - Transgaz, Transelectrica, Alumil, bond issue - Yioula Glassworks) represents a solid premise which gives us the right to believe that this time as well we will successfully contribute to the triumph of this project”, says Managing Partner Doru Catalin Bostina.
The project will benefit from legal assistance from a mixed team, formed of 7 lawyers specialised in the capital market, IT&C and public procurement, a team coordinated by Olimp Bărbulescu. Olimp has solid capital market experience, acquired over the seven years within the National Securities Commission and, subsequently, at Bostina & Associates.
„Romtelecom’s listing will certainly be a reference event in the domain, and the successful completion of this initiative will have significant positive effects on the capital market. As far as we are concerned, we will do our best so that this process is carried out as quickly and as smoothly as possible”, says Olimp Barbulescu.
In February, the Ministry of Communications announced that it would hire a law firm to help the institution to draft a tender book for the tender for the selection of the consultant in view of launching a public offer of sale on the capital market a stock of shares from the state’s interest in Romtelecom, taking into consideration the listing both on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and on one of the international capital markets. The decision and time of listing will be set forth after the consultant has presented a study relating to both the evolution of the performances of the fixed telephony operator and the overall situation of the national capital market and international markets.
