Bostina Scholarships
Bostina Scholaships have been awarded. The winners in 2007 were Alexandru Potlog, third-year student, Cristina Stanca, fourth-year student at the Law Faculty of the Bucharest University and Roxana Vornicu, fourth-year student at the Law Faculty of the Iasi University.
Since 2006, “Bostina & Associates” Law Firm grants two scholarships for third and fourth-year students of the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest, prize-winners of the Communications Sessions “Bostina Scholarships”. Starting 2007, the Scholarships have been extended also for the fourth-year students of the Law Faculty of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi.
“Through the topics proposed, we have encouraged students to consider thoroughly those areas of law which are directly related to the reality of the present Romanian economy. We have appreciated their power to assimilate and analyze critically the information as well as their ability to publicly sustain their arguments” says Narcisa Oprea – coordinator of the “Capital Market” Department within “Bostina & Associates – the one in charge with evaluating the papers.
The value of a scholarship amounts to EUR 200 per month and is granted throughout the academic year [October - June] and, at the same time, it gives the beneficiaries the opportunity to get in contact, as early as their student days, with how one of the largest law firms in Romania operates. A student can benefit from a “Bostina Scholarship” one time and only under exceptional circumstances, twice.
“We will continue to make long-term investments in law students’ professional development and, together with the Faculties’ Management, we will try to constantly improve the communication between us and them and identify new other ways to get ourselves involved into the activity of the students circles and associations.”, says Doru Bostina, Managing Partner of Bostina & Associates.
